Studyladder activities won't play?
Below is a list of possible solutions, please try each solution sequentially.
Solution Attempt 1
When you view Studyladder on your computer this is done via what is called a 'web browser', this web browser might be called Internet Explorer, FireFox, Google Chrome, Safari or something else. Most computers have more than one browser.
Try opening Studyladder via another web browser on your computer preferably Google Chrome.
Google Chrome is the browser that works best with Studyladder. It is a free web browser that takes just seconds to install. Please try installing Google Chrome
Solution Attempt 2
Most activities on Studyladder are run through the Adobe Flash player. If you're having trouble playing the activities on our website, we suggest you install the latest version of the Flash player.
Please follow these steps to upgrade to the most recent version of Adobe's Flash Player:
- Before installing Adobe Flash, you will need to first uninstall any older versions you currently have running on your computer. To do so, download Adobe's official uninstaller here. Make sure to select your correct operating system, and then "Uninstall Flash."
- Now that you've uninstalled the older version of Flash, go to Adobe's flash download page for reinstalling the most recent version.
- Once you've installed the flash program you might have to restart your 'web browser'.
- Finally, open your browser again and go to Studyladder. You should now be able so successfully play the activities!
Solution Attempt 3
If the instructions above don't resolve the issue, please also try the following:
- Temporarily disable popup blocking software installed on your computer to test.
- Allow www.studyladder.ca as a trusted site in your Firewall software.
- Ensure other applications like Quicktime, iTunes, Real Player, or Windows Media Player aren't set as the default streaming application, as this might affect the video player.
- Make sure your computer is set up properly for Flash by checking out Adobe's Advanced Troubleshooter here.
- Sometimes students using our site will alter settings on their 'web browser' or computer by accident. If this occurs it might disable the site from working. To see if this occured try accessing our site from another computer if you have access to one
- Studyladder has sites in multiple countries, try our activities by logging in via one of our other sites. On the bottom of all our site pages is a picture of a country flag, next to that you can select another nations site to try.
